Our restaurant is currently closed, however, we are delighted to announce from Friday 16th April we will be offering a click and collect service from our restaurant in Bamburgh.

Although we have some limited outdoor space which people are more than welcome to use, we will not be taking bookings for this area. Bamburgh beach is a stone’s throw away, offers stunning views and is the perfect setting to enjoy your freshly prepared lobster and chips!

OUR STORY

Welcome to the Potted Lobster

In November 2015, we started out as a small, bistro-style restaurant headed by local chef, Richard Sim. Serving fresh, local ingredients from the surrounding harbours and farms, we offer a relaxed dining Since then we have gone on to expand the restaurant to include a new dog-friendly area, organised a number of private catering events and have been included in both the 2018 and 2019 editions of the Michelin Guide.
We’ve branched out with local trade, including a greater number of small suppliers in Northumberland; R Carter & Sons Butchers, Rigg & Furrow Brewery, Doddington’s Dairy, Particularly Good Potatoes and Bamburgh Walled Garden to name a few.

The Potted Lobster provides private catering for your special occasions; we see to it that the event goes smoothly while you and your guests enjoy the day. From 3 course wedding breakfasts to BBQ buffets, we tailor your menu so it is bespoke and exactly what you want for the day. Whether it’s a tipi wedding on Bamburgh Village green, a birthday party up Ingram valley or a dinner party in Newcastle, our team who have worked together for many years are on hand to see that all your catering needs are met. We don’t go off sample menus as our owner and head chef, Richard Sim, would prefer to sit with you over a coffee and find out exactly what style of food you’re looking for. Need some inspiration?
